Touch.

Trusting your capacity to know without knowing.

Exploring the rhythms of the body, through movement and hands-on work.

30-hour training in Intuitive Touch

Göteborg - Linnégatan 9 - Lyckoreceptet

In short, this immersive is built on three pillars:

  1. Experiencing rhythms through the tissues and flows of your own body in movement.

  2. Self touch.

  3. Practicing supporting these rhythms by intuitive bodywork, both giving and receiving.

1) Experiencing in your own system first

We need a deep resonance with the unseen undertow. Our bodies are in constant inner movement. The way different systems and tissues move are varied and often multi-layered. When we move our bodies in somatic exploration we practice to get to know the movements of the currents of fluid, electrical impulses, stagnant or free fascia and muscle to name a few of the undertow rhythms.

Perhaps we can name things separately (Jedi level), however, most often we feel into many different rhythms and flow at the same time. We meet the information we receive with a playful attitude of safe exploration within the own body system, both giving more containment (clearer directionality) and more space (creating less pressure and increasing circulation).

Self experience comes first, but will not be the only valid experience we base our hands on work off. In sharing of the experiences we gain more understanding of the variations of different individuals and how the psyche and mind follow these rhythms in multitude of variation.

2) Self touch

Placing our hands on our own body creates a dual experience of inside/outside experience simultaneously. It can be more confusing than working on another body. However, we need to test the different ways of using the rhythms on our own body first to get to know the techniques before we start practicing on others.

3) Hands-on bodywork through intuitive touch

Intuitive touch leans on full confidence in the self-organizing and self-healing capacity of our body-mind. Under the right circumstances, fluidity and containment find greater harmony, allowing for the release, or the stability needed for healing and restored functionality. Intuitive touch demands something from the practitioner, it asks for you to step outside your regular approach and apply a method that to another person, may at first seem like no method at all.

Your main skill to strengthen is trust.

Trust in how you receive information from another body through multiple senses. So much will stand in the way of clear perception. How someone looks or carries themselves, facial expression, culture differences, what they are wearing, how they move, all your prejudices to body types, looks, smells, textures and so on will be there to feel through. As we explore meeting someone else through all our senses, some pathways will open more clearly for you and some might stay unavailable. Personally I rely on the felt sense through my hands and on images that pop up for my inner sight. This communication is wordless for me, but for someone else the information may be taken in through the senses and translated to words and thought, or to sound. The variation is endless.

Who is this training for?

This training is created for those of you who already have some experience in somatics. Wether you are facilitating classes or if you want to add elements of intuitive touch to your bodywork practice, you will hone your skill in supporting your groups and clients.

You could also attend this immersive purely for your own enjoyment!

You could use and apply the method as a stand-alone method, or as a fusion-method with any other type of body work of movement facilitation.

It could also be of great value for physiotherapists, psychologists or people working in ways that use movement and touch.

Some of you will join the training to be able to give a foundational intuitive touch treatment to your family and friends. You are just as welcome to join as those wanting to use it as an addition to their professional practice.

Daily schedule

Morning session - self practice and sharing followed by self touch and theory

Break

Afternoon session - practicing and receiving hands-on with another participant

If the self practice is extra long due to the material of the day, theory and self touch may be moved to the afternoon session.

Day 1 Rhythms

Morning session

Aligning to the pace and cadence offered up by the body, noticing and exploring synching up to what's here right now.

Afternoon session

Theory on rhythms and co-regulation

What rhythms do we carry in our bodies? Feeling this in our own body practicing on each other. Being the energy others entrain to.

Day 2 Directions

Morning session

Containment and release

Afternoon session

Theory on the ways the body support, hold and stagnate and on how if circulates frees and looses integrity.

Day 3 Wetting the tissues

Morning session

Plumping, sponging and circulation

Afternoon session

Learning how to get the tissues lubricated and well circulated. Exploring on yourself and on another participant.

Day 4 Relationships

Morning session

Rubbing and rocking

Afternoon session

The body is made of relationships. Practice the foundations of the relationship between fascia, muscle and bone. Play with rubbing as a technique for heat and slow traction for ligaments and the fascial coating of bone, and with rocking as the way bone land into the joints.

Day 5 Bringing it all together

Morning session

Shorter morning practice revisiting all the rhythms bringing it to a simple fullness followed by either giving or receiving a full treatment.

Afternoon session

Shorter theory lesson followed by either giving or receiving a full treatment.

Continuing study hours & certificate

This training is a stand alone training but does also count as continuing study hours for Somatic Fusion & Born This Free Method. In an extended version with an additional 20 hours of homestudy it also counts as 50 CE hours for Authentic Flow.

At the end of the completed training you will receive a certificate of participation.
